I'm not really one for baking. And while I love eating pies, making them seem quite intimidating. I had a bunch of granny smiths ready to be used (a bunch left from smoothies and juices never made). There's no better way to use them than in an apple pie, right? In this case a Dutch apple pie. With a Dutch apple pie you only need to make one crust and I love a good cinnamon crumb topping anyway. This is only the 2nd time I have ever made a pie (the first was over 10 years ago). I did quite well if I do say so myself.
