As a kid, my sister was (and still is) a great baker. However, instead of boring vanilla or chocolate cupcakes, she seemed to always make black bottom cupcakes. I think it was a love affair that started with her first one from Just Desserts. Once she got her hands on the recipe (from the SF Chronicle), it was the only cupcake in her repertoire. I grew so tired of them that I've avoided them... until now.
I suddenly had a craving for these chocolate wonders last week. There's no explanation. I just got a craving and had to have them. So, for my birthday, Diddy made these lovelies pictured below. He's so sweet!
The fluffy, sweet cream cheese complements the light moist chocolate cake. And the melted chocolate chips add the right amount of density to the cupcake. I'm in heaven!
