These beauties were hand picked by my friend's mother today. These aren't just ordinary lemons; these are sweet (Persian) lemons. And like the name says, they are sweet...sugar sweet. The nose has a rich lemon / lemon verbena quality. The flavor is a cross between a lemon and buddha's hand. Preserved in salt, these gems are a great ingredient in Persian cuisine. On its own, these make a great natural lemonade. I wonder if they would make great limoncello? Only one way to find out...
