slushies
Growing up we used to make slushies all the time. The insert is placed in the freezer overnight, allowing the liquid center of the cup to get frozen. Take the sleeve out. Pour your favorite cold beverage and within minutes you have a homemade slushie. As I kid, I made root beer, orange juice, grape drink and apple juice slushie. It was such a treat.
This holiday, Zoku introduced their own version of my childhood slushie maker. I got one for Christmas (thank you Diddy!) and it just takes me back. The first slushie I made was a Hansen's Root Beer slushie. It was cool, refreshing and delicious. And the great thing about the Zoku version, you can add more liquid to the cup when you are about 1/2 finished with your slushie. It stays cold enough to make a second batch!
The Zoku is designed to make slushies from sodas and juices. It can also make milkshakes with chocolate or any other flavored milk. For adults, you can create your very own frozen jack + coke. Simply add about an oz of Jack Daniels after the coke has become a slushie. I think we need more of these for our next deck party in Wellville.
